Caesarea is protecting the environment
Caesarea residents are invited to create ecological gardens and participate in the green revolution taking place in the town.
The Caesarea Development Corporation, which manages and develops the least crowded town in Israel, a town in which private gardens are particularly large, is inviting residents to participate in the
ecological garden competition.
The winner is promised a prize equal in value to a 50% reduction in service fees (aka property taxes in Caesarea) for one year.
Within the confines of the activities for the year of the environment declared by the CDC at the beginning of 2008, the Corporation is inviting residents to create ecological gardens and to participate in the green revolution taking place in the town.
Community director Yulia Penson explains: "With the correct planning, ecological gardens can provide shade; healthy, toxin-free food, and convert some of the organic waste into excellent fertilizer. In an organic garden, rainwater can be stored, gray water can be used for irrigation without tarnishing the beauty of the garden. We truly believe that by doing this, the residents will contribute to the national effort for a greener environment."
Residents participating in the competition will attend a four-session course that will instruct them on converting their home garden into an ecological garden.
The gardens participating in the competition will be reviewed by a team of judges who are experts on environmental quality.
The owner of the winning ecological garden will, as previously mentioned, receive from the Caesarea Development Corporation, which is equivalent to the local authority, a 50% discount in service fees for one year.
