As we all know and unlike many other sports, golf is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game relies on the integrity of the individual to abide by the Rules of golf. This is the spirit of the game of golf.
Due to complain received after conducting a survey among club members on reliability of the scores in tournaments we decided to add new role. This new role can be defined as - "golf referee".
We'll start implementing it in the coming weeks. The golf referee will work during tournaments included all monthly medal on Fridays, big sponsorship tournaments and club championship.
The golf referee will be around the course during tournaments and will be in charge of supervising the players helping to follow the rules of golf. Furthermore will act as an umpire to issues raises during tournaments - sometimes misapprehension of the rules leads to breaking them...
Club members interested of reporting on rules breaking during the game may do so by reporting the referee to give his judgment.
We believe this will help achieving fair contest and much more pleasure to players during tournaments.
This role will be filled by Ido Barel. Senior club member accepted this not simply job.

It's very important to mention that this is not a marshal role and he will not handle any marshaling duties.
