96 golfers took part in the competition, all members of the Caesarea Golf Club.
As befitting the world of cigar aficionados, the competition was unique, colorful and full of surprises, including branded hats and shirts, fine drink and excellent Cuban cigars.
The competition opened with a spontaneous putting competition where all the competitors stood in a circle and attempted to sink a ball into a hole in the center. For the first time ever, none of the 96 competitors succeeded in sinking the ball into the hole. On the second attempt, seven players were successful: Yaa'kov Har-Oz, Sydney Abergil, Meir Asaiyag, Uri Levi, Ian Fuchs, Malcolm Prak and Linda Strit. All seven were awarded a portable cigar humidifier by Cigar Magazine.
