Environmental quality - focuses on the interaction between the person and his natural as well as artificial environment. The problem of environmental quality has exacerbated over recent decades with the development of technology that has harmed the natural environment and has created problems such as air and water pollution, uncontrolled use of resources, etc.

Ecology - from the Greek philosophy of the environment. Ecology focuses on the study and understanding of the interaction between all living beings and their natural environment.

Aquifer - layer of ground or rock that stores water within it.

Mountaint Aquifer - known as Yarkon Taninim acquifer. Underground water reservoir that is located under the back of the mountain. This acquifer is located from Nahal Taninim in the north to the Beer Sheva region in the south, from the plains in the west to the back of the mountain in the east.

Shore Aquifer - underground water reservoir that spreads from Caesarea in the north to the Gaza Strip in the south, and from the shores in the West to the hills of the plain in the east.

Underground Water - rainwater that has penetrated into the ground. The water drips through the aquifer layer that absorbs the water until it reaches the sealed rock layer.

Upper surface runoff - rainwater that was not absorbed into the ground and creates a flow on the surface.
