Latvia Open Golf Championship 2008

Respectable Achievements by Golf Academy Children in Latvia.

Six Caesarea Golf Academy children attended the Latvia Open Golf Championship that was held on one of Latvia's finest golf courses - OZO GOLF CLUB.
The children, Dor Hacham, Assaf Cohen, Niv Rosenberg, Peleg Geffen, Shay Ben David and Shlomi Suissa, were selected based on their achievements throughout the year.

The children, who are between 13-16 years of age, played for 3 days with adult golfers and under exactly the same 'conditions' as experienced golfers (starting at the same point, the farthest ones, the BACK TEES.

The most prominent achievement in the competition was earned by Assaf Cohen, who golfed a 79, 81 and 74, which earned him fifth place out of 70 participants, and a prize.
Cohen played with confidence and did not hesitate to compete against much older, more experienced golfers. Dor Hacham was not far behind, ending with a respectable 11th place.

Just like a year ago, Academy children represented Israeli golf and the Caesarea Golf Club in an extremely respectable manner, beginning with their behavior and mastery of the rules of the game to the way they played the game. Various competitors mentioned to the head of the delegation, Boaz Segev, their impressions of the children as well as how much they enjoyed playing alongside them.

Segev: "In order to understand the level of difficulty of the course, I will mention that last month, a round of the European professional competition was held here, and competition organizers raised the level of difficult to maximum level, which means that the law is high on the sides and the greens are extremely fast. In addition, during the competition, strong winds were blowing, making the game significantly more difficult.
Among the competition's adult participants were Latvia's number one golfer, two of the best golfers from Estonia, the second ranked golfer in Russia and golfers from seven countries."

Results of Golf Academy Children at the end of 3 Days of Competition:

5th place - Assaf Cohen with 234 strokes
11th place - Dor Hacham with 255 strokes
30th place - Shay Ben David with 277 strokes
49th place - Peleg Geffen with 293 strokes
Niv Rosenberg and Shlomi Suissa did not rank among the first 50.
